The PA/NJ/DE CCIM Chapter recently participated in the mid-year governance meetings held twice annually by the National CCIM Institute. The meeting was held in San Antonio, Texas and is where CCIM welcomes new instructors, updates its educational offerings to its core courses and to those in the Ward Center for Real Estate Studies. This year, the national 2020 Strategic Plan was approved providing guidance and continuity for the CCIM Institute for years to come.
The PA/NJ/DE CCIM Chapter received a “Chapter of Excellence†Award and the First Place President’s Cup Award (for a Tier-3 Chapter) for our programming and service to our members. “We continue to build on our success with great momentum,†says John Birkeland, CCIM the PA/NJ/DE CCIM Chapter President.
The Region was well-represented and at the regional caucuses, and confirmed the benefits of having the role of Regional Vice President to rotate between the PA/NJ/DE and Mid Atlantic (Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC) chapters. This has been very successful to keep our region working well together. The leadership of the combined regions are diligently finishing the details to co-host a Core course in Baltimore, Maryland this fall. This would help each chapter by providing a mutually-convenient location for prospective students, and helping to defray each chapter’s risk associated with hosting classes. Efforts like these are being recognized by the National CCIM Institute who have recently invited us to participate in a marketing program to will assist further joint regional marketing efforts to strengthen the chapters individually and collectively.
Representing the PA/NJ/DE CCIM Chapter was Jeffrey Hoffman, Immediate Past Chapter President, Eric Gorman, Vice President and Chair of our University Outreach Committee, and Robert Fuller, a recently-pinned CCIM Designee. Gorman continues the efforts began in 2017 at the University Summit where our chapter hosted 7 universities. This effort also garnered notice by CCIM National Institute, specifically from Jennifer Weed, Vice President of Education and Barbara Crane, CCIM National President who discussed the state of Real Estate education and best means to engage and prepare the next workforce for the commercial real estate industry.
“Congratulations to the PA/NJ/DE Chapter for continuing our march of providing value to our members, supporters, partners and most of all the Commercial Real Estate community,†continued Birkeland.
